20 years in MD. BUT according to a couple posts above doesn't matter what the age of the vehicle is. If it came factory with a cat it needs one. So really the no emissions because of age of vehicle is BS because federal overrides state. So all in all your 25yo vehicle by law (if it came factory with a cat) needs to go through emissions. Not arguing but I don't understand it.

OP has a F150 that he's referring to removing the cats & they never came with 4 cyl engines & even his 98 Ranger 4WD wouldn't be a 4 cyl so where are you coming from stating "3rd, you have a danm 4 cyl" And by the way DAMN is spelled this way |

Fawkers in Ontario...one of the reasons I let my Ranger sit for five years was emission laws...I was waiting patiently for the 88's to be exempt...so, what do they do? freakin put a halt on that and include 88s in the requirement...
However, if I lived in Northern Ontario or Toronto I would be exempt... Anyway, what was this thread about???

OKAY okay Fineeeeeeeee I wont remove my catts! But in Florida iv never herd of anybody being bothered about emissions. Oh and iv got a 3.0 V6 not a 4 cyl PSFT! And in case anyone was curious I put 600 lbs of concrete in a cooler to put over the back wheels. That should fix the F-150 problem in a 2wd vs. 2wd pull!

Unless you have dyno slips to prove it you can't say otherwise. I'm running an H&S programmer on mine with an AFE DOC/DPF delete pipe on mine.

Edit: I have a livewire system. A programmer is a programmer but just thought I would throw that out there and those number were while running extreme race tune.

I will post them when i get home. Sadly I still have 7 hours left of my 15 hour day.
I honestly cant find my print out, Thought it was in the trucks console. My numbers above a ESTIMATED to what it is now with updated tunes for the motor and trans. Have yet to run the setup on the dyno. This is what it ran back in September. ![]() 214 is mine. As you see 201 Ward ran basically stock numbers I think all he had was an intake. In the lot of the local fire company Eric (innovative) helped him delete the DPF and had a tuner for him to use and it damn near (but not quite) doubled his numbers,

My 94 came to me without a cat. It is OBD1, so it is exempt from current MA emissions, safety only. I take it to a guy I've known since elementary school. He married a lady who was in my class in 1st grade. I know the rules and he knows the rules. Test or no, the cat needs to be there. I wasn't about to insult the head mechanic, who has been inspecting my cars for 30 yrs. I saved the lightly used cat from my last Grand Wag, sawzalled the track pipe out and adapted the different sizes with a new Walker muffler hung off the cobbled together intermediate pipe. I took the whole mess out when I did the clutch. The Wye pipe was OK, but the flange to the cat was off and a 2 1/2' piece of 3 " pipe was welded on . Then my cat, then a welded up piece 2 1/4" pipe to the muffler that ends just ahead of the rear end. It is a cobbled together POS, but it is quiet and up out of the way. It is sized pretty good and gradually tapers down to the stock muffler exit which is.. what about 2" ID . I have about 50 bucks in parts and hardware in it.
