I have a Pioneer DEH-3100UB that has an Ipod control/dock, front auxillary, front USB (great for a thumb drive), and obviously a CD player that is rarely used. It is an older model, and Pioneer has updated them a bit. But this thing puts out decent power, and never skips a beat.

The new unit is a DEH-3300UB. Here's a pic:

And a link to Pioneers page: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/CD-Receivers/DEH-3300UB

Here's an Amazon link, where they have it for 95 bucks. http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-DEH-3300UB-Receiver-Direct-Control/dp/B004BLJXLQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1312425856&sr=8-1
Wanna be amused? I found one of those in a Bronco2 in the U-Pull-It last week

I paid $20 for it and a friend who dropped by that night saw it and
offered me $50 for it... As it already had a Ford wiring adpaters
with it he had it installed before he left...

Funny thing was the usually stereo scavengers had left it behind because the faceplate was gone...
I found it under the drivers seat when I flipped the seat forward to grab a hub that was on the back seat floor

nice! thats a good score for 20 bucks. I love pioneers, i dont know if other companies do this, but their radios all use the same plug in the back. so you can just solder up the whole harness and swap with a new radio whenever you want, just pop one out and the other one in. Ive installed a ton of systems, and pioneers have the best quality IMO, even better than alpine most of the time.

Sony does the same thing in fact as far as I can tell JVC and Sony use the
same black industry standard power/speaker connector.

My preference is for Sony head units, not because I think they are better
so much as the fact that I have external accessories that connect to the sony bus
Like my ten disc CD-changer that plays mp3-cds... the dedicated iPod interface,
my Sirius box... etc

I'm sorta locked into Sony because of all the stuff I have for it.

The CD changer playing mp3's is kinda cool, it's like having a iPod that I can completely change out the media on about as fast as I can change the disc magazine
(about ten seconds) and yes, I have spare magazines....

Sonys good too, I have a few pioneer accessories as well for mine. Im thinking of something with a screen next, I want to play video games in my truck hahaha. Plus I can mount my 7D to something on the truck and use it as a video monitor! Chase cam through the trails.
