My 2010 ranger sport ( White face gauge ) dash is very easy to read during the day ,but when i turn on the head lights ,they become very difficult to read. I turn them up to the brightest setting ,just short of the dome light coming on.

Is this a common complaint or is it just me ?

Any answers will be greatly appreciated.

Will led light alleviate this problem ,or just make it worse ?

Mine aren't very bright either/only work for the last half of the dimmer switch. I too have been thinking about LEDs, might do it this weekend.

If I do, I'll let you know how it works out

Hey man, I did the LED dash lights tonight. I takes 5... I only bought 4... also, one of the bulb sockets busted so now I can only ever use 4...

They're nice and bright, I wouldn't do it if you didn't need to. They were $15 bucks for two at o'reilly, so, about 40 bucks if you do all 5. Mindless you find a better deal, I probably wouldn't do it.

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
In general, LED'S dont' like dimmers. So get some that are designed for use with dimmers or expect them to blink off at some low dimmer setting instead of having a full range of dimmer operation.

If you leave them on bright all the time, it won't matter.

Looks good ,how long did it take you?
Did you have to take much of the dash out ,to get to the gauge cluster?

It took like 15-20 minutes.

Just pop off the front panel, and then like 8 torx screws for the clear plastic cover, then the gauges pop right out. My gauge cluster is 4 piece, I've heard if your gauge cluster is a single solid piece and it's automatic column shift it can be a real turd.

The other trick is the speed-o. Had to wedge a screw driver behind it so it would seat in the gauge unit. And just be gentle, one of my bulb sockets popped through, so I'm not missing one.
