It's 3/16" steel and runs from a custom transmission crossmember to just behind the t-case. The trans crossmember stays in place so the skidplate can be removed if needed. Haven't noticed any heat issues.
No writeups on it, it's just an axle bumpstop trimmed to fit into a bracket bolted to the backside of the doubler unit, and then the bumpstop bolted to a length of 1x2" rectangle tube welded inside of the stock t-case skid.
When I built the full skid, I cut the bottom off the t-case skid (retaining the 1x2" piece of tube) and then welded in a frame of 1x2" tubing for the 3/16" steel to be welded to.
The hole in the center is for access to the bolt that holds the bumpstop in place. Smaller holes are so dirt & water can drain through.
