So far I have caught mine before it got to that point and been able to bend it back.

On my to do list is to get a regular whip antennea for it... its a ways down the list though (especially since the installation of a USB ready HU so don't have to worry about radio reception as much)

Do you smoke or otherwise use the ash tray? I've found that a Midland 1001z will fit right into the slot for the ash tray in a gen 1 dash. It only takes a slight modification of the tray slides to bolt it in.

I might even still have my modded slider around somewhere.
Previous owner of mine used the ash tray hole and modified it to fit a midland

A period correct CB would be a great add on but as stated a lot of,money is going to be needed.

The all in one CB Antennas $uck at best for reception on the CB Band, a compromise at best.

IF you are just thinking CB, consider the Uniden 520XL, great CB, enough knobs to make it work and not expensive, a round $50.

It would be good to have the original CB, if you ever find one I working condition post up.
