So I'm hoping one of you guys happens to know what this two pin plug goes to. I was changing the o2 sensor out and found this connection hiding in between the firewall and the engine.

And yes, I know the ground strap is broken. Just another addition to the very long to do list.

The thing I just found out about this truck, is the previous owner swapped to a manual trans and really kinda cut corners.. As in didn't even swap the computer.

Could this plug be the p/n switch?

Where is it coming from? If from the passenger side trans it could reverse lights. I just replaced the sensor on mine because the wires were broke off, but I didn't pay attention to the plug connector so can't say for sure what yours is for. On my 93 4.0 manual the sensor wire cam out on the passenger side and then transfer over the top of the trans to the drivers side. Mine is stock manual trans. On yours there may be a different plug or sensor for the factory auto trans, sorry, don't know for sure.

Hmm, don't think its the reverse lights unless the PO wired up a separate switch for it since I've never had a problem with those working

I believe its coming from that red wiring loom, but I didn't do a whole lot of investigation

Manual and automatics used same engine wiring harness

If you have a manual trans then that connector was not used, it was for the solenoids in an automatic

My factory 4.0l manual Ranger has that same connector, unhooked, it does have a plastic plug in it, so sealed

Well then I guess I don't have to worry about it. Thanks!
