Hmmmmm, Interesting concept. I like the line-x one better. All in all I think I'll leave mine be.

Flat earth people, uggh. 6 volt cars didn't exist, because nobody has seem one in 15 years. .

I did think briefly about RV/Cargo trailer windows, but as you pointed out one would have to recreate the upper roof line to make a flat frame work. With my skills the body filler would cause the suspension to lean more on one side.
You're missing the point. It's not that nobody has seen them in the last 15 years, it's that nobody here in the last fifteen years has -ever- seen them, at any point in the 33 years since they were referenced. No vehicles listed for sale, no junk yard vehicles, no parts (or even part numbers), etc. Zero evidence they existed other than a page in an owners manual and one or two demonstrations by the factory.

If you go to the end there is very circumstantial evidence they did sneak a few of them out.

One guy says he has seen them in that thread but no pics. Kind of like the bigfoot (the Wookie-like thing, not the rare Ranger package) of the RBV options.

So rare they pretty much might as well not exist (if they do exist) 9 years ago AllanD had been looking for them for 20 years, almost anther 10 and I haven't heard of him turning any up yet.

Fair enough - would love to be wrong about this and close the question for good.

Edit - you're talking about the car-part search for movable quarter glass? That sounds like the front wing vent windows to me, which definitely existed (they were on my '86 Ranger, for example).

Good catch.

Randy was the one that said he had seen the removable windows and offered up the car part search.

So did he have his wires crossed about what what everyone else was talking about or did he forget about the optional vent windows? :icon_confused:

Probably talking about the removable side windows. The vent windows in the front doors have been optional for decades in many different vehicles. My 88 EB B2 has them but my 84 B2 did not. My 84 Ranger XL had them as well.

After a little looking those vent windows are not easily removed either, someone mentioned in another thread that the vent window and main window all come out as an assembly.

I've been wondering about grabbing a set of those side windows but not sure where I'd put them to keep them from getting broken, but I seem to recall someone saying if you break one good luck because they are no longer made and none of the glass shops can make them or get them either.

I had a set of side vent windows removed and saved. They burnt in the fire last spring. They are separate from the main window but the front main window track is part of the vent window assembly.

Sounds like a pain to take out, I think I'll leave well enough alone LOL.
