I bought a 77 f250 as a temporary replacement for my work truck. After putting in a sliding work bed and a sliding shelf in the box, as well as a cap, it was almost impossible to access the spare tire mounted to the inside forward boxside. I decided to make something so I could mount the spare to the front of the truck. I used some steel that was in the fire this spring as well as part of a b-2 spare tire carrier that was also in the fire. Some 1/4"x2"x 10" welded to part of a 5th wheel hitch rail and the b-2 bracket. Bolted to the bumper thru the liscense plate holes and braced to the rad support thru the grill with 3/16"x2"x16". Here's some pics;

I wish I had mounted the tire higher so I could see it in front so I don't hit something. On the flip side it's great for pushing sh...stuff out of my way. I'll update as I use it, I'm slightly concerned about the way I mounted to the rad support. And it's unfortunate that the b-2 bracket isn't long enough to mount the tire with the good side out.

I've used this a few times now for pushing vehicles. It seems to be hanging together just fine.

looks good, but keep an eye on your temp gauge, they block a lot of air flow.

That's a good point. I've been noticing temperature problems but I also have a leak at the pump I need to fix.
Thanks for the heads up.
