One issue to installing an Explorer overhead console into a Ranger is where to run the 2 Temperature Sensor wires. I didn't want to drill any holes into my firewall and could not find any existing rubber knock outs. I solved the issue by running a fish tape, from the passenger side roof, center above the door, to the jump seat pocket on the same side of truck. It only took one fishing, easy. Once in the seat pocket area, I punched the 2 wires through the 3" oval rubber gasket in the floor area there. I then attached the sensor to the bottom rail in the floor pan. You could use the chassis, but I just wanted it further away from any heat source, aka exhaust pipes. I used flexible conduit inside the seat pocket to protect the wires and also on the outside of the truck. I again used the fish tape for running the wiring down the front windshield post. The console definitely added a little class. I would definitely advise when mounting the bracket to the roof, that you should cut 3 slots and not just 2 for mounting. I drilled holes at the slots ends and used a Dremel tool w/ the metal cutting blade to connect the drilled holes. This looked very professsional. Hope this will help someone.
