I've got an '86 Gen 1 I'm putting back on the road. It's 4WD, came with a shelled out 2.9L that I'm swapping out for a 4.0. I kinda like the digital dash look, anybody swap out an Explorer/Bronco/Aerostar digital dash for the stock Gen 1 dash?

I don't think any of those ever had a digital dash.

I few years of the Aerostar did, I think. I have never seen one swapped into a Gen1 Ranger.

Coulda swore I saw an article or a post or something that talked about swapping a Bronco/Explorer digital dash into a Ranger. My mind is slipping.

Anyhoo, I found some cool looking digital gages on Ebay, and I'm thinking, when I get a couple bucks up in the slush fund, grab one of these:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Intellitronix-DP10001W-LED-Digital-Five-Gauge-Panel-Kit-Universal-White-/311260119945?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item48788c8389&vxp=mtr

I don't need the tach yet, can always add it later along with a compatible looking oil temp gauge and mebbe an ammeter. And yeah, I like the blue LED readout.

Specs say it's a universal type, should mount in with some dremelling and maybe some fabbing of a bezel, and scavanging the proper senders. This looks doable to me...
