Alright, I was in the middle of swapping out the clutch an I was havin trouble removing the drive shaft. I wound up removing the tail end of the trans (where the shifter sits in. When removing the end I had to twist the part off, it didn't just slide backwards and for the life of me I can't get it back on. Help please!!

Pretty sure the piece that I need installed is the tailshaft housing. I've been looking for a while and haven't found anything. This is his DD, he's fine gettin round without it but, this was only suppose to take a day an now it's been 4.

Thanks

did you already put the transmission back in the truck without the tail? if so youll probably have to remove it and bolt it together, then put the transmission back in.

Got it! There's basically a button on the inside of the gear selector an we wound up using a coat hanger (one of the metal ones) to push it up while sliding in the shifter rod. There was barely even enough room for that :)

well thats good news. i guess i misunderstood what you were saying. automatic transmissions also have these and the transmission must be in neutral or else the rod will stick out to far or not far enough.
