THe security systems also can shut of the power going to the coil, therefore no spark. The best thing to do is to get it reset or get a new computer.

My credo
The fun begins where the pavement ends
You don't want to hot wire a fuel pump unless is is 12V rated. Some (like the one on the 'zook I just sold a guy... long story) need a step down from the computer and will burn out and fry/short stuff if they are wired in hot. My gramps old 93 did not have security and it was a loaded Laredo. Either reset the PCM (disconnect battery for 10 mins, remove fuse for that time then reinstall), get the security system reset at the dealer or find a computer out of a runner.

Open the drivers side door panel and find the yellow wire with purple tracer (maybe be the other way around) in the harness. Cut it and ground the side coming from the body to the door. This disables the alarm system if it is the culprit of your issue, will fix it.

Locking and unlocking the drivers door and the tailgate with the key didn't reset it? Always has for my 95 ZJ... Weird.
