94 w warn front hubs. Changed tires today and noticed that both hubs will wiggle if U push the top and bottom of the tire alternately. Side to side seems fine. I have had new ball joints on both sides done this summer. The hubs are about 2-3 yrs old. Why the wiggle?

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
What do you mean when you say the hubs wiggle? Is just the hub wiggling? Or are you saying that the whole "tire, wheel, hub, brake rotor " assembly has play when you shake the top and bottom of the wheel? I assume this test is with the lug nuts properly torqued? If so, then it may be time to check wheel bearings.

Adjust the bearings and recheck.

Some times top/bottom play from a wheel bearing can be more noticeable than side to side.

Appears just the hubs wiggle with the lug nuts tightened. Wheel bearings then?

Checked it today and the two spindle nuts per side were loose, one was broken. Tightened them up and replaced one side with ones from junkyard. Good to go! I tried to post pic of broken nut but photobucket doesnt seem to work anymore.

Glad you got it fixed. Congratulations.
