Need to know what else to take out

What's going on guys? I am in the middle of my 5.0 swap and have a couple questions. The donor car is a 2001 explorer and the motors going in my 2001 ranger, so my questions are:

1. Do I need to take out the whole engine bay harness and fuse box?

2. Will I need the brake booster and vacuum set up?

3. What size adapter do I need from advanced adapters?

And 4. What else do I need from inside the car besides the PATS transceiver and ignition?

Thanks
Anthony

You'll want the PATS module and at least some of its wiring from above the glove box and the throttle cable along with the PATS transceiver from around the ignition cylinder.

Not required, but the Expo A/C evap and liquid hose between the evap and condenser are a better fit than the Ranger bits with the 5.0 exhaust, particularly with headers.

No need for the whole engine bay harness or brake system -- But....

Your old Ranger PCM uses the transmission speed sensors for calculating the speed signal The Expo uses the ABS system so you could well NOT have any speed signal at this time.

Couple options:

If the transmission output shaft and housing allow, adding an earlier VSS and driven gear is likely the easiest path. Only two wires, a ground and a ready to use signal. Change the driven gear if needed to account for tire size and gear ratio.

Pretty sure the 2.5L I4 Rangers use the GEM for speed signal processing using the ABS sensor in the rear axle.

Graft in most of the Expo ABS electric module and G-Force transducer.
