It was dark and rainy. The deer jumped up from behind the guard rail onto the highway. I didn't have much time to react so I swerved to the left. The deer hit the passenger side:annoyed:.

I lost the headlight, corner light and trim. The hood and fender are damaged. The deer was moving pretty quickly and made a large dent in the passenger door and another in the bed.

I have to wait until Monday to get an estimate of the damage and decide if I want to fix it or part out the truck.

What do you think? Is it worth fixing or should I get a real 4x4?

Save the rims, I like them... personally, I would get a 4x4, but if you can't find something in your price range, just fix the pickup yourself, no reason to pay someone else to do it, that way you can keep driving it too.

Did you get some back strap at least from the deer?

It's not that bad. A little Bondo, some fiberglass, and to make it look perfect, a little red Rustoleum! Nobody will even know!

I'd fix that. Wouldn't cost a lot if you did it yourself.

I'm either going to submit the claim and have them send me a check or just drop the claim. It doesn't make sense to pay over 1k for body work on a truck that I paid 850 for.

bah!

Drive it as is. It's a TRUCK.

Chicks dig body damage. Just tell people it happened off-road.

Half an hour with a big hammer, new headlight, and your good to go. It already looks better than mine.

you should consider yourself lucky. my ranger doesn't go fast enough to do damage, and i payed more than $850! it looks like an easy fix to me, if your really concerned about looks. if not, fix the headlight, and like another poster said, drive as is. it's a truck after all. not a limousine.
