if you want to get rid of the flag style mirror's let me know. i like them alot more since they fold in closer to the cab. unfortuantely i can seem to only be able to find the passanger side mirror.
When I change them I will let you know.

Driving home from work today it was making a bunch of clunking noises. I checked every bolt and checked them twice. Nothing was loose...took for a drive and cluncking was still there. My dumbass forgot to tighten the lower bolts for the front shocks. The nut was gone on the driver side and bolt almost worked it's way out. The passenger side was loose too... new bolts with nylon locking nuts on both sides. Clunking is gone

Well i have a problem with the track bar bracket. Its flexing even though i have it reinforced. I might have to fabricate something else instead of what is on there. Any suggestions?

I can't really tell how it is mounted, is just bolted thru the side of the frame or it is it bolted on the underside also?

i plated my frame with 1/4 inch. welded the trac bar bracket to that. and made a large turnbuckleto that run's off the upper bolt hole's to the engine crossmember. i 'm pretty sure i'm using a completely different setup (heim's) but might be able to do somthing along those line's

it is bolted with the sterring box bolts and then a brace that runs to the engine crossmember. Similar to kroussinoffroads.
I really dont want to weld anything to the frame if i dont have to

If thats the case, I would weld another piece on it to make it L shaped and bolt it to the bottom of the frame. You can gusset the whole thing better this way too. I would do this anyway, I personally don't trust using steering box bolts to hold my axle in place and my steering. If one breaks, you are screwed. I have seen steering box bolts strech and shear.

Where is it flexing at?

Not sure where exactly. Just can tell when driving and turning the wheel back and forth. I will take a pic of it after work. Or i think the pic of it is in my other build thread somewhere.
I might just do something similar to what kroussin did.

I have a very similar design (aka copied it) but made it for a TRE. I had to weld mine to the frame on the bottom since I couldnt bolt it due to that part of the frame is boxed in. Mine still flexes slightly after welding but its only the part below the weld but not enough to effect anything. But I bet if I braced mine then it would stop.

Just saw you posted. I know how mine does because the body moves slighty side to sidde before the steering wheel turns the front wheels. Use to be alot worse brfore i welded it to the frame.

i am going to engineer a new system similar to kroussin. Or just weld what i have to the frame with a different brace/gusset.
Another thing i have to do is shorten the trackbar. Its about an inch to long and the axle is not centered under the truck. The one i have is for more of a lift and worked fine on the 89. Since this one has less lift it is to long.

just remember if you adjust your trac bar you'll need to adjust your steering as well.

Does this mean you will have to make a new drag link since you have to shorten your track bar or do your TRE's have enough threads in them?

I would weld it to the frame. You don't need it to come off and if you do you can cut it. Bolt and weld, then gusset to the engine cross member

There are plenty of threads, I made the draglink about 3/4" shorter than the stock XJ draglink.

Ok, weld it to the frame. Should I fabricate a new one or just modify what I have? I didn't get a chance to take a pic of it. Got to dark out and if I took it with the flash on my phone it would not turn out. This is a pic from the 89 but it is the same on the 93.

Awesome and quick build man! On the trackbar bracket, I definitely agree that it needs to be bolted/ welded to the bottom of the frame to eliminate the flex.
