So I have a 99 4x4 and my pulse vacuum hubs broke the 3rd time i went wheelin. I pernamently locked them and they work great. Now I m running 33s with 3:73 gearing...so my mileage isn't the best. I would like to do the mod where I make my hubs push button to save a little gas ,but can I even though I removed the metal clips in the hubs?

Err, don't do that. You'll just be going back to the stock style setup. If anything, get manual hubs. The 2001+ Rangers don't even have hubs at all, permanently locked all the time.

I'm not sure what parts in hubs you specifically need, but making your pvh into manual is ez... I did it in 5 mins taking my time. Halfway in to unlock, and a fullin push for locked. It's ez. Don't waste money on manual hubs unless you like the look or you'd rather... Saving 140 bucks is saving 140 bucks

Yeah I dont want to buy the avm's iv seen bad reviews and I know that he mod is pretty simple, but i lready pernamently locked mine by taking out the metal clip...isn't that piece neccessary for the hubs to unock and lock if I were to do the manual hub mod?

Yeah, you need the metal clip to hold the plastic halves together when not in 4wd.
