91 ranger compression test, fuel pump relay location

doing a compression test. wheres the fuel pump relay located?

do i also have to disconnect the fuel injector fuse as well?

In the engine fuse box, there is also a 30amp FP fuse in there that you can pull instead of the relay.

But not really needed.

If you press the gas pedal to the floor before cranking the engine over with starter motor then fuel injectors will be OFF.
Fuel injected engines have a Clear Flooded Engine routine
Holding gas pedal down to the floor with key on engine off will start that routine, releasing gas pedal will restart the injectors, even while still cranking engine.
Try it
You should get a No Start with gas pedal down all the way.

And when doing a compression test you also WANT throttle plate open all the way, so win-win :)

Compression test must be done with all spark plugs removed, or crank speed will be slow and results lower

yeah found that fuse yesterday dont even know why i made this post..

okay so just
1)remove the fuse
2)unplug the main wire for the distributor
3)get all the plugs and wires out of the block
4)and finally when i got the compression gauge hooked up
...floor it every time before turning the key? or should i just keep the gas pedal permanently down the entire test?

True, but id prefer them to be unplugged. Not such a big deal to unplug it anyways.
