I did years ago

Enduro models are for off road but can have the lights and horn to make them street legal, so you can ride them to an off road location, lol.

They are not comfortable for longer rides, suspension is stiff and good off road tires wear out pretty fast on pavement.
For short trips they are great, and not averse to some fun shortcuts :)

The 400 single cylinders can give quite a kick back when foot starting, wear boot not tennis shoe, your arch will thank you

They are pigs on gas, especially 2-stroke

You want front wheel ABS if at all possible, they didn't have that back in my day, but I have tried it out and it is GREAT.
I liked to be able to lockup back wheel :)
Front wheel lockup means "hello ground", front wheel wheelies are NOT as fun as they look on TV

Had a Yamaha 360 Enduro back in 1973 during the gasoline crisis. It was fun and got lots better mileage than my '63 Thunderbird. Haha haha. Didn't much care for the "Ying-Ying" from that big single cylinder.

Lol I'm looking for about 2003ish with key and elect or kick start. I used to ride a 426 with the compression release and man was that a very cranky bike if you lay it over it wouldn't start for like 20 min. By the time you did get it going you were too tired to ride it ha ha

I have a 06 Honda xr650l that I put on an extensive diet (32 lbs), geAred to top out at around 65mph instead of the stock 105. Mx tires.. I converted it for dirt only duty even though it still has a plate on the back. Absolute blast off road in the bush. Wheelie machine. Tons of torque.

I have a XL-350, it was cheap, it was fun... it is kinda hard to find parts for (story of my life) Never road it on the street. Big ol' 4 stroke, tons of torque.

I went to pass my brother (who was riding a three wheeler) once, to do so I had to get a little off our trail. All was well, I just caught third gear and I found a square bale someone missed that was hiding in the grass. Jammed my wrist hard as the handlebar went to full lock and somehow I dented the side of the fuel tank as I departed the bike.

Was runnin' jack rabbits in Texas and hit a damn armadillo. Ass over teakettle and about broke my neck. It felt like I ran over a bowling ball. Good Times!
