I just put on the thrush welded muffler and I was surprised because it is not loud at all. It sounds like a stock muffler and only just a little louder at high rpm's. People say the thrush welded souds just like the flowmaster 40 series but i must disagree beacause if thats true, then the flowmasters are crap but I know thats not true.
This was on a 95 b2300 2.3L
I switched to the flowmaster super 44, same setup (2.5 i/o, exit in front of rear tire), and the difference is night and day. it sounds way better than the thrush, which made a weird buzzing sound under load. I guess you get what you pay for haha
Update: I sold the b2300 and bought an 03 ford explorer sport 4.0 sohc. Since the thrush was sitting in my garage I figured I'd slap it on there and see how it sounded. I must say it sounds really good. It's really throaty and only drones around 2k rpm. At freeway speeds you can't hear it in the cab. Overall I am impressed.
