Man deer suck. Had that happen to me 10 or so years ago with a 94 olds. Took the grille out and ran her merry ass off. At least no sheet metal was damaged. The grille is a 5 minute replace job

Looks like an easy fix. You can buy new parts from LMC truck. I had a real nice white 97, 2.3 5 speed. I drove it about 4 years until a guy tried to load a big Ryder truck into the bed. Used my forklift to yank the bed out a little. Still drove ok. Sold it wrecked for $1,100. Between that and the insurance settlement I got within a few bucks of what I paid for it. Replaced it with a red 2000 extended cab. (visible in my photo).

looking at the picture on the computer instead of my phone, it does look like the hood was creased a bit...

I would take the truck to a body shop and see what it would cost to fix that... way too nice of a truck.

Love Thy Neighbor
Hoods are only about $100 for that year...and the grill is around $60...the headlight case is where it starts getting expensive...wrecking yard for sure...

Overall, not a bad experience...hopefully the rad isn't shaken up because those plastic parts can snap fairly easily...so keep an eye on that for a bit to avoid a much more expensive repair...like my Zuki...got into a similar accident with a wild honda deer...minute crack in the bottom of the rad lead to a cracked head...

Anyway, glad you weren't hurt or going faster...:icon_thumby:

Now is time to get some new lights off ebay. they have the new fancy types that will replace the old yellow ones from the oem. Not real expensive for a set either.

I did notice the $100 hoods at LMC... I'll fix this myself. I don't want the insurance company anywhere near it for something like this. Too apt to $$ total it. Gonna have to do a bit of pulling and banging it around a bit, the hood doesn't line up anymore and will bind on the cowl when I try to open it. Radiator is fine. Thinking about getting a Rally STX type of grille... and a brush guard bumper.

The State Troopers had the carcass hauled off. I think the local native tribes around here get first dibs on something like this.
