Hi guys,
First time posting here. I have a 2009 4cyl Ranger with 86k kms. About a year ago my truck started making an odd noise. Seemed to happen after I had driven on a long logging road. The noise lasted intermittently for a few months and then stopped. I wouldn't hear the noise all the time but every few days and it seemed more likely to happen when the engine was cold. Then it just completely went away.
Two weeks ago, I drove again on a logging road for about an hour and now the noise has come back. It doesn't always make the noise and again seems more likely to happen when the engine is cold but not always.
It could be totally unrelated to the rough road but it seems to correlate with it. Happens in all gears and idle and sometimes not at all.
