I've got one on my truck that has the allen head set screws in it too. It would always come loose and the rattling drove me crazy so i just used some black RTV on the inside of the knob and on the set screws. Now if i ever want it off it's a little clean up but not impossible, and it's been there solid for a few months now no more rattling.

I don't like metal shift knobs, they get cold as shit. I have a plastic metal flake shift knob with the Mack bulldog inside, I haven't had a chance to put it pack on since I changed trannys.

My truck is garaged all winter, cold isn't an issue. I suppose I could make it heated. Heated shift knob? hehe

thats actually how i ended up with mine. a buddy of mine gave it to me because it was too cold for his girly hands after soaking in -10 degree alaskan winters all night.

ive actually been momentarily attached to that knob at times. out scraping the windshield, get my hands damp, then jump inside and grab the frozen steel shifter...whoops.
