I have a 97 ford ranger with a 5in body life on 31s with a Dana 35 in the front but needing to replace it. If any one could tell me if its fix able or not I would appreciate it and also maybe tell me what else I could do for a front diff ( like what other models or size I could use)

While cast metal "can be" welded, it would not be a good idea for this part.

Have a look at the Tech Library section on Axles: http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/index-axles.shtml

You could just replace it with another 35 but there are other options, first thing would be to find out what "let go" to cause that type of damage

Is there any suspension lift on the truck? Some lifts have drop brackets that will punch a hole in the D35 right about there if you flex it wrong.

90-97 D35 Rangers and 91-94 Explorers for just the differential part.

5" body lift might not be a great idea, I doubt it is what caused this but it won't help anything else.
