Flex to Gas Swap

I am looking at a motor to swap into my blown flex fuel ranger. The motor i found is a gas motor. What would I need to do to make it work good in my truck. would i need to pull the computer or what. Please help. Thanks

Swap all your sensors and fuel rail/injectors on to the new engine.

a flex fuel computer NEEDS TO SEE the signal from the flex fuel module in the fuel system. or at least it does on the earlier models such as around 2000 that have the alcohol content sensor in the fuel lines.

so if your truck has the FF sensor, don't use a gas pcm. plus if you have PATS you're kinda stuck with your pcm.

I'm looking for a cheap junk engine to practice machining skills on, are you near Ohio, Michigan or Indiana?
