Looking to move all my V8 stuff back into a Ranger. Don't know if I am going with an Gen I or Gen II yet. Looking for pics of a 83-92 Ranger with a 94 up rearend. Gen I rears are getting hard to find and I already have a good Gen II rear. Concerned about tire rub. Thanks.

My credo
If you're not making mistakes, you're not learning.
Gen 1 and 2 should be the same? Either way, the 1993+ should be just a hair wider. As in you'd only notice it if you were looking for it and had a truck side by side to compare to.

Yeah, I have a 97 Explorer rear in my 87 Ranger, which is a bit wider yet, and I have no rub issues with stock tires. I'm still looking for a good pic.

EDIT: Nope, no good pics.

I have 255s on splash rims. I was thinking they were pretty tight on my 85 ranger with stock width rearend. So I am trying to be sure, Still looking for a truck, so this could make up my mind about Gen I or Gen II.

The Gen2 has bigger wheel wells.

Not the greatest pic but my '91 has a '92 explorer rear which I believe is even wider then the '93+ ranger rears. Truck has a 2" shackle flip in the picture.

Same truck as I posted before. This was back when I still was daily driving it (3 years ago) and shortly after I swapped the explorer rear in. 100% stock suspension in these pics.

I had a lot more drop on my 85 Ranger and I thought it was pretty tight with the stock width 8.8.

Its probably more just getting the correct offset rims then anything else to get it to tuck. On a side note, I thought the 10 hole rims were 4 lug only?

They were. I used mustang rotors on the front. On the back, I used One mustang axle and had the short axle modified for four lug. Ran 87 GT wheels, then 10 holes. Worked great had a bit more offset.
