My credo
I need more sleep.
So, I've got my CB and cable, and I plan on getting the parts to mount to the bed.
Just curious if I have everything I need, or if there are any other things I have to get.

Spring

I'm not sure if I quite need the spring, but I was told it was a good idea to get one. If I really don't need one I can save myself $10 bucks.
And will they all work together? I asked my dad for help, but was told as and adult I have to figure it out on my own, lol! I should have asked here in the first place. It's not so much the bracket I'm worried about, it's just if the antenna will fit, as I can just simply screw it into place.

A spring is in my opinion a must Especially if your truck is a daily driver

I actually don't have a spring on my daily. I'm thinking I should put it back on though. I can't remember, but it might just be a medium spring, not a hard heavy duty. it sways too much while driving, which is why I took it off.

I've got the 4' Firestik II as well. Just make sure its grounded in all the right spots, and the antenna is NOT grounding to any metal surfaces.

Alright it's all ordered, I'll post some pictures up when it gets here.
Hopefully everything fits, it all is supposed to, so well see.
Just my luck if it doesn't lol!

Sweet! My antenna and mount came, just waiting on the spring today, I'll hook it all up and work on tuning it.

Of course my dad flips out about it, but whatever lol.

Did you seriously drill into your rail to mount that????

Stakehole mount. No drilling. But it should be turned around so the wire will be inside the bed.

Yeah, I saw that and thought about it, I got my spring though now so, I just have to hook up the SWR meter and radio and get it all tuned up. :D

It clamps into your stakehole, the 4 screws pull the plate inside up to clamp it in place. The whole reason why I bought it was to not have to do any drilling.

Does anyone know a place where I could run the cable into my cab without cutting a hole or such?

I drilled my stock rear bumper, and ran the cable along the frame. I brought it into the cab through the firewall wall near the foot pedal assembly.

I like that stakehole mount, but I sometimes have a bed cover over mine, so I couldn't do it on the inside.

I thought about running it through the firewall, where the cord bundle is, an I've ran wires through it already so, I might give it a shot.
