I'm heading to a local LKQ soon to find some cheap heads for my 94 4.0l. Looking for some off of a 95-97 ranger/Explorer.

Trying to avoid multiple tool fetching trips, what are some if any specialty tools I need to bring with me.

they may be T50 as well, make sure you get a pry bar so you can GENTLY break the seal after all bolts are off

Head bolts are T-55 Torx

All the bolts and nuts are metric so you do need a metric socket and wrench set.

10mm, 12mm and 13mm are most common but not the only size you will need.

Ford Fan Clutch wrench set, these are not expensive, and you can try other methods first.

Exhaust manifold bolts can be an issue.
And collector pipe nuts.

If car or truck runs I usually take it to local exhaust shop tell them what I am doing and they will remove all the bolts and nuts, replace any that break or get stripped heads, and reinstall snug not tight.
Most I ever paid was $60, parts and labor.
Takes them an hour, would take me several hours just on one bad bolt.
They know all the tricks and have all the tools.
