Where did you place your oil filter re-locators? Any probs? pros & cons....

Pics speak loud.... and i feel these style threads answer many questions that get re-asked many times.

I will take a couple pics of mine to post tomorrow.

cheers

I placed mine down on the front cross member. didn't use the supplied hoses and clamps. Went to a hose shop and had them make up some great lines. cost over C $120.00 but I think worth the extra protection.

That is with the Explorer FEAD.

If you can't tell the oil filter is mounted where the charcoal canister used to be.

Downsides: Filter is kind of up in there and hard to get much leverage on to remove.

Upsides: Filter can be prefilled when installed and is very much out of harms way.

I need to revisit this and change the godawlful red hoses out. They always have bugged me but at the time it was all I could find for oil rated hose. I have since found black. :icon_hornsup:

I made hydraulic hoses for my first setup, couldn't get them to hold. The hoses were so stiff they kept backing out between the engine moving and the body not moving. Also used two wire hose, may have been too stiff too.
