Broken Vacuum Line Question And Disconnected Wire

Hey all.

Couple questions today about my 2.9 1990 Ranger...

Went to check the oil the other day, and noticed there was a vacuum line going into the intake manifold that was snapped at the 90 degree connector. I'm guessing it must have happened during this 2 month cold snap. The line runs into something off the drivers side of intake manifold. I've included a picture of it.

Thing is, I can't get the vacuum line out of the thing in the picture, it's stuck in there. My question is, what is this thing and will I have to replace the whole shebang? Excuse my ignorance, I'm still working on learning about this stuff.

Second question, while checking out the broken vacuum line I noticed this electrical connector I hadn't seen before. It's disconnected, and I can't figure out where it's supposed to go. Any ideas what this goes to?

The vacuum line looks like it goes to your fuel pressure regulator (FPR) and will need replaced. You can buy standard vacuum line that fits to replace it.

The connector looks like it should go to an AC compressor.

Thanks for the info, I will look into replacing that vacuum line.

And also thanks for the info about the connector, it would make sense that it should go to an AC compressor. The previous owner removed the AC for some reason, so this must be leftover from that.
