I bought the vehicle w/ these conditions. but the previous owner said it started intermittently.

i've been google-ing the issue.. possibly a rear diff speed sensor?

i've heard anything from damaged torque converter to speed sensors on the top of the transmission.. this ring a bell to anyone?

thanks.

Get a code, come back with it.

You have a missing speed sensor signal to something, and the rear sensor is a good guess, but without codes and diag info, it is still a guess.
