H/L switch nightmare!!

how do you locate the release button, to release knob and shaft from switch on 87 B2? remove the complete dash? Help, please. Have no lights!! I posted new thread on this earlier, but didn't go thru, evidently. thanks to all for the help.

If I understand your question properly, you would use a small screwdriver in the small slot cut in the back of the knob and pull both the screwdriver and the knob towards yourself.

figured it out.have to remove fuse panel, or push to 0ne side, then screw your arm up into the bowels of the dashboard, locate switch, depress release butto ,which is on the passenger , or right side, then pull gently on switch knob. don't do like I did, and pull the knob completely off. not necessary. then, unscrew locking nut , (after removing dash trim) and switch wi be in your hands! so simple.

I like to pull the facia off. That gives you a good shot at just putting your whole hand around the switch.
