I couldn't be happier with my results. I did the 5 speed swap from the a4ld to a tk5. My fuel mileage has taken a serious increase. I haven't done the math yet, but ill tell you what. I used to fill up once a week only going back and forth to work about a 20 some odd mile round trip. And now I go just about 2 and half weeks. Not only to work. I got my weekend full of activities and adventures without worrying if I got the money for gas. More 4x4 with my daughter. Hoping she will be into it when she's older.
I also did the radiator swap. I have a donor 94 explorer. And it has the two row radiator. I swapped it right over. I only had to trim the upper house or it would hit the alternator. That was the only clearance issue. With the stock radiator it would get really hot just going up a slight incline. It would even get hot doing 65 on the highway. Now with the two row radiator I can drive up and beyond the mountain range here in cedar city.
I would recommend doing these swaps. Makes life easier and more worry free.
