It's getting hot and now my water pump just blew its seal. I'm going to replace it along with all the hoses but would like to do that with a silicon hose kit. Does anyone know if a silicon hose kit is available for the 4.0 V6? I have a 1992 but don't imagine the hoses are much different between the years.

Summit used to sell a silicone hose kit for the 4.0 (made by Goodyear) but I don't see it in their latest paper catalog...

If it is still made and available please post if you find it...

I really don't see a need for silicone radiator hoses. The standard ones seem to hold up just fine. I still have the original bottom one on my 02 with 197K miles on it. The top one I replaced just for confidence while off-road in remote areas and carry the old one as a spare.

I do have a silicone top radiator hose on my race car but it operates in a more extreme environment.

Silicone hoses last a lot longer... they don't harden with age, etc....

My Heater hoses are all silicone hose and they are nearly bulletproof except for one thing... they are not very abrasion resistant... So I use that plastic mesh covering and support clips wherever they can flex and rub against anything...

Having some piece of wiring harness, or bracket rub through one is always going to happen at the worst possible moment!
