Hello, just picked up a 01 4x4 Ranger 4 door super cab and the driver seatbelt retractor spring must be broke as the belt lays there like a wet noodle. I have no problem buying used. Where is the best place to start looking (I tried ebay) and what years all fit? The truck color I believe is harvest gold but anything close I will consider. Thank you.

Local junkyard is probably your best (and cheapest) bet.

Few items of note:
-Ford switched to a smaller male end of the seat belts around 98 or 99 to the skinny version (which should be what you have now), just make sure whatever you pull from the junkyard matches what you have. One from 2001+ should work.
-Bring a set of torx bits and a breaker bar, I believe its either a T45 or T50.
-While I can't swear to it, I think that Explorers from 99-01 may work as well and share the same interior colors as the Ranger.

Hope that helps.

That happened to me once...I was able to get it to retract by yanking it a couple of times...the recoil mechanism might be jammed from over extending it and worth a shot at least.

Yes, I think the torx is 50 because it was not as big as the bed bolts and not as small as the door latch retainers...which were 45...but the same size as the striker on the 88...IIRC.
