I am trying to remove transmission on 2007 5 speed 4x4 Ranger. One of the guide pins seems to be stuck. Just above where starter was, on driver side. How do I get transmission out, without tearing anything up?

Jack up on the trans, then let it down. Wiggle it, shake it, pull on it, pry on it. Sometimes those dowels just get stuck and you gotta beat them around a bit to get them unstuck. You won't break anything.

You would think that after 120 years of building car the manufacturers could get it through their heads that bimetallic corrosion is a real thing and they need to find a better idea than putting pieces of steel in pieces of aluminum.

Yes, & after soaking with PB Blaster, & waiting a week, it didn't take much more effort. Thanks again.
