Well, I had a hair on my butt today to go and do some light "maintainence", this is my story:
Vehicle: 2002 Ranger Edge 4x4 auto trans. 4.0l V6
1. Cleaner: BG Products throttle body cleaner.
2. Cleaned throttle body, TB plate, IAC and EGR Valve with said cleaner. Noticed EGR valve was nearly impossible to clean. Also, I "accidentally" took off throttle body and TPS (service manual pics show to leave them on, I'm an idiot I guess). TB and IAC cleaned up super nice, but not EGR valve.
3. TPS was very hard to put back on (screws binding).
4. Noticable effects after doing said cleaning: High idle, and CEL is now on. Also, it shifts like a Chevy (rough) now. Bummer.

Questions:
Is the TB gasket supposed to go back "inside" the intake manifold, or is it supposed to mate with just the surface of the IM (OEM gasket)?

Could I have messed up the TPS by taking it off?

As far as the idle, rough shifts and CEL, I guess I need a new IAC now? Delphi, right? (I can't find the right part #)

Lastly, a red gasket came either out of the IAC or the sensor housing. I assume it goes back in the housing?

I'm going after the MAF next with the proper cleaner, after I figure this out :)
Nice to be here, and thanks in advance for any ideas.

Got it fixed. Auto Zone scanner saved the day. $100 fix for it all
TB gasket seems to be fine.
Replaced IAC and TPS, no more CEL or rough shifts. Darn thing actually runs smoother with more power now. PCV, fuel filter, plugs and wires are next! I'm not touchin 'em haha
I just really wish ya didn't have to take off the damn intake manifold and all these hoses to change some spark plugs!
