So the day before yesterday i got a call from my brother. He was broke down in his 97 Dodge 2500 V10 about 15 miles away. So I took my ranger and towed him 12 miles back to town. Didn't get a picture but she did good. Put it in 4wd low and kept it at 30 mph. Didn't want to put too much strain on the rear end.

So I was going to get a doubler and wait on gears until I could buy lockers and everything all at once... well behemoth is basically gone, box for rocks is gone and nwf is making an adapter for our trannies to mount a 300 or 205. So the nwf adapter is probably 200 plus buying the doubler and a 205 is gonna be almost 2k... my only other option is to do the home brew 1354 doubler. I don't think it's something I could do on my own tho.

Ordered 5.38s and install kit for my front 60. Next is the sterling gears to match. Getting close to making this thing move betta!

Check Amazon. I got new 5.13's for my d44 for $50 shipped. I flipped threw 10 pages or so and came across them

I found the front gears and install from rock auto. USA gear which is made by yukon and USA master install kit. 316 bucks with shipping.

Anyone know if there are any differences in the different sterling years? Need to figure out what year to reference for ordering my rear gears.

Id start with narrowing down weather its a 10.25 or a 10.5

Pretty sure it's a 10.25. My buddy has one and it looks identical.

Did some reading and the 10.5 has discs and is found in later model fords with the metric bolt pattern. It's definitely a 10.25 just need to scrounge up about 360 for ring and pinion and instal kit. That's the cheapest I have found so far.

All the 10.25 gears are the same through all years. The 10.5 started in 99. 10.5 gears will fit a 10.25 but there is no benefit. The 10.25 is a good axle stronger than a 14 bolt and there are a ton out there

Yee. I'm wondering if I can swap to disc brakes without going to the 10.5 cause I don't want metric wheels or adapters. I'm sure drums will be fine for now tho.

I'm going to pick up my 60s from my dads this morning. Gonna clean them up and get the rear ready to sell if anyone knows somebody that needs a rear 60. And clean the front up and paint it and get it ready for the gear install.

Ruffstuff makes a kit. There is also a vendor on pirate4x4 that makes a complete kit with everything you would need to do the swap for around $400
