from what i unerstand the vss sends an a/c signal, and the tach (which draws off of the neg side anyway) operates on d/c

haha cool thanks for the info man, i was actually looking at the one in my explorer and wondering how it wasnt affected by the speed and wind lolIt does. The overhead console has it's temp sensor which takes the temp. but without the VSS telling the console how much wind chill there is, your temp could say something like 40*F when maybe it's like 80. I don't know Fahrenheit numbers, but you get the idea. Think of working on a hot day, and you're sweating your bag off. Then you get a bit of a breeze and it feels goooooooooooood. Cools you off a bit doesn't it? Same deal with the temp sensor for the OHC. That's why it incorporates the reading from the VSS!
Ah, I didnt know if the B2 was electric or cable driven. That sounds like it would work. Will be working on it and I'll post my results. Thanks.
