So I got my engine apart and found a connecting rod twisted in half. I cannot find new ones other than Carrillo forged pistons. Anyone know where I can find a stock replacement Rod?

Yeah I had a little too much fun in a big mud puddle. turned out to be a lot deeper than I thought. Worst part is it made my girlfriend right. No ford does not carry them. If you need a rod from them you have to buy a short block. $1500. At least thats what the 2 dealerships I called told me.

A dealer is only asking $1500 for a short block? That sounds way too low a price to be real. Time to visit an auto salvage yard.

Its a Duratec right? I think they carried the duratec all the way till 2009, If so then go to a junkyard and pull them from any 2003 to 2009? 2.3 ranger. There are also alot of cars that use the duratec in several configurations, but finding them with the 2.3 instead of the 2.0 is the trick.
