$2,500.00 for a 1999 f150 4x4 5.4 with 70k miles. Says it needs a little work. I know people hate 1999 f150 but... I seen these at 142k going for 3400 so seems like a steal... Im gonna hafta go see it in person. I was just hoping someone could let me know what problems I might look for, in a 99 5.4.

Thanks in advance for any tips.

ya im hoping, cause the next one is 3200 with 160k miles. problem is the 70k mile one is an hour away. being married always causes problems with traveling lol. i really dont care about color i care about engine tranny and RUST. they are still trying to sell an f150 i said no to 2 months ago for 3400. it had such bad rust i dont know how frame hasnt cracked yet in front. i know rear had ugly done by some idiot plate welded to frame. it was like they cut up a diamond toolbox and welded it to frame..

My credo
Don't vote Democrat.
That says 25K. Not 2500.

I need to learn more about vehicles hate having to ask stupid questions but i just dont wanna throw my money away.
Does anyone think this, if done right of course, would badly affect towing or payload capacity? i just picture frame snapping in half. i know prerunners do this but they dont tow stuff. and its tubing not reattached frame.

just go check it out good.. drive it. check all the frame, motor, for leaks, check for fresh fluids(could be trying to hide something)...

From the looks of the rear bumper it seems to have been rear ended, might have a shop check it for frame damage. $2500 is too low IMO, something isn't right. Generally in my area 99-03's are asking somewhere in the $5-10k range. I would laugh at anyone offering me $1200 or even $2500 for mine.

The only reason some people hate them is because they can, there isn't one model of vehicle out there that everyone in the whole world will like.

Personally I have a '02 and I love the thing...

im sorry call me stupid. rockers? lol... as i said call me stupid.
I know to check frame, specially if its been freshly painted to hide rust, wheel well rott, make sure it shifts through gears, how it idles. i know on mine i didnt notice with my ranger was my radiator support is rotted off frame so at 60 and above from wind the vibrations are crazy it makes whole cab shake like doors are gonna open. trying to find one but i dont wanna hafta rip through a whole front end to get to it and i think id rather new, but same time i need the sides that were welded to frame that it sits on... prob should just go to junkyard for it.
well i got a couple i wanna check out and a 99 5.0 explorer this guy is pretending a million people want it when in the last 20 days hes dropped the price 100 every 5 days, hes stiff on 1850 for a 177k miles. i said 1500, he said no. f em then. hopefully 1 of those million people buy it.

same here for those trucks in my area. i found a nice 02 with 160k miles but they want 6900, it is a nice lariat model with painted gay bed topper, but i hate toppers... id rather a tonneau(ya thats spelled wrong lol) if anything. and for 3400 was a rotted to shiznit 98. that 98 dude needs to get screwed . well thanks for tips and letting me know what you think all.

the photo makes it look like this truck is in a some what remote area, as far as possibly away from salt and i did text them what needed to be repaired as they said MINOR things on it. minor better not be head gasket and it just needs a new engine lol. if i found one for 1500 perfect condition cept blown engine id buy i found the perfect 5.4 replacement on ebay in my area so thats not that bad. long as similiar year i should be able to drop in without playing cut n splice...
