I've been eyeing my dads old 1970 chevy 4x4 rustbucket that he drove in the 70's and 80's and I was thinking to myself "I wonder what this truck looked like back then" (he doesnt have a picture).

It would be awesome to see pictures of your rides from the 60's, 70's, and 80's!

I'll start, 1970 Chevy 4x4! (this is how it currently sits)

Dad's was a '68 I think, about the same pastel blueish/greenish color. Corvette 327, ran pretty good until a semi blew a stop sign. When dad woke up on the floor (no seatbelt) it was still idling on 7, the alternator got pushed into the rocker arms of one cylinder.

He was making a trailer out of the back end when he started going out with my mom in 1980 shortly after he wrecked it.

My 1980's ride:

Dune Runner, do you have any more pictures of the Willys/ Jeep Truck? that is very nice and clean looking. Most of those were rusted to powder by the 80s

I don't have any pictures handy, but it started with a white with a candy cane interior 1965 Mercury Comet with a 289. Then moved on blue 1972 Chevelle, man I loved the Comet.

That is the only picture I have of the Jeep. I used to have some of me jumping it but they disappeared with an ex. It was a 67 Gladiator made by Kaiser. I blew the stock rear end up twice before I swapped a Ford 9" into it. It had zero rust when I owned it. It was one of many trucks I owned back then. I wish I had thought to take more pictures.

My credo
I need more sleep.
Maybe not so back then, but this was my first thing I drove. There is a special place in hell for this car.

1970's lets see: 1965 Corvair Corsa (turbo charged), 1969 Dodge Charger with 383, 4speed, 1972 Ford Ranchero, didnt sell till 1994, but had new F250 by then. Also in 70's had a 70 VW squareback for the wife (pancake engine) she wont have another vw as a result, also forgot had a 65 vw bug while in Korea, had to be pushed every morning to start was flat worn out when I got it (another reason wife wont have a VW).

First car I got was for graduating, a '48' Dodge Coupe that Grandpa couldn't drive any more, $50 in '64'. Loved that car, could go anywhere. Mine was grey.

After basic traning I got a almost new '67 Dodge Dart with the rare '273' Hi-Po motor. Never seen another one like it. Factory four speed and solid lifters.
