Recently I started having a beeping message (?) coming from under the dash. It is not the door chime, it is a different noise coming from a different location. It sounds like it is coming from under the dash on the drivers side. But when I get my head down there I can't pick out where it is coming from.

It is a series of five strong, kind of loud beeps. Three sets of five beeps, repeated three times, with a long break in between.

Nothing inside seems wrong, nothing is malfunctioning. My code reader shows nothing that is amiss. This has been going on for about four months now. I had a Ford remanufactured engine installed this week but it is still beeping the same as before. I am really just curious what this might be. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks

Not sure why you would think replacing the engine might have any effect on a beeping in the cab.

Next time you start it up take note of the airbag light, and make sure it proves out. When the bulb for the airbag light burns out the module starts dinging at you to let you know something is wrong.

Thanks for the advice, I will pay attention to that light.

The block cracked during a freeze here so that is why I replaced the engine ( I guess I should have said that).

I think that is the 'Belt Minder' alarm. Driver's seat belt not buckled or the buckle switch is broken. My '04 has that alarm. The seat belt icon on the dash also flashes with the 5 dings.

It could be that, but that idea makes it unlikely to be a mystery why the truck is dinging.

yes, +1 to airbag light bulb, 5 dings repeated.
And in an '04 it could be passenger side airbag light as well, see if there is a disable switch for passenger side it has a bulb.

Beeping has stopped - airbag light

So you were correct about the airbag light Thanks for the suggestion! Once I swapped the light out, the beeping stopped.
