Hey Guys...quick question! I have a 91 Ranger SXT with the 4.0 in it currently. The stock motor has typical lifter noise leaks and what not. (190k on it!!!) I found a steal on a 4.0 out of a 96 explorer here local. talking to the seller he doesn't seem to know a lot about what he has so I figured that I would hit y'all up and see if it would work for me. He does have the harnesses but not the computer. It should fit just fine but will the wiring be plug and play? Any issues with mounting?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks for looking!!

I'm putting a 91 into a 94. I'm swapping everything not the same between motors. Only thing so far is the belt tensioner but I haven't finished. Pretty easy to spot differences when both are sitting side by side.

Thanks for the info...so I can assume that if everything is different the sensors are going to talk to the computer I currently have in the pickup the way they are supposed to....damn!

Will the stock electronics...harness, sensors, accessories, etc...swap over to the newer motor clean? Or am I going to have to mad scientist the harness to make everything work??

What I'm doing is making sure the new motor has exactly the same sensors as the old motor and using the old motors ecm and wiring.
