I hated the look of my rusty tailgate, so I made this out of scrap steel we had laying around the farm.

Im not sure if I like it yet, but I do like the fact that I can see through it. It makes backing up to trailers and wagons a lot easier. It keeps things in the bed and its more rigid than a net, so I'll keep it on for a while.

So what do yall think?

I got the idea from an AEP truck I was sitting behind at traffic light. All their Rangers I have seen have tailgates similar to that. I was even able to use the stock latches and cables from the old tailgate. It took me about 2 hours to build and I was painting a trailer at the time so I already had primer and then semigloss black in the gun.

It appears that the op made some bolt latches on the right and left hand upper corners.
