well, after getting beaten out of an 02 Sport Trac with 4x4 and a manual transmission, I found a 4-door XLT with 4x4 and a manual transmission.

For the price, I don't mind needing 4 tires, 4 brakes, the headlight panel and the taillights - at junkyard prices, all still under what I was gonna pay for the sport trac.

Also needs the headliner and some deep cleaning.

Does anyone know if there's an easy way to put the 3rd row in these? it looks like there's anchors back there, and there's a cupholder where the 3rd row would end up...

My parent's '02 has factory third row.

2002 was the only year for the manual BTW, good find :icon_thumby:

My 02 explorer has the third row. No manual trans tho. The 4wd in the snow is better than 2WD but I am generally unimpressed by it in the snow. She won't stop in due to the ABS in snow or dirt. Her just being big and heavy really shows compared to my B2.

On the open road she is great tho, with V8 despite weight has quite a bit of brute force over the B2.

My parent's is a 4.0 with l/s rear and is a tank in the snow. It puts its weight to good use.

I imagine once I get the tires replaced (2 bald up front, 2 dry-rotted in back) this will be a tank in the snow... I'm waiting to get my ranger back from the shop so that I can just go trade out... pick up the truck, drop off the SUV.

I guess the "2003" with a manual was mis-labeled then? maybe a conversion, too. I was hoping someone on expedition forum was selling a converted one, but no dice.

Mine is a 2002...

wow 2002 with a 5spd manual, cool and rare....... is it a V8 model too.?

I'm building my 2001 sporttrac into a V8 5spd , but it may start life as an automatic, 99 5.0 exp ltd donor truck has a rebuilt trans in it so.........:dunno:

sport tracs with broken 4.0 OHC come up pretty reasonable :D:icon_thumby:
