I was running my truck with what was assumed to be a blown head gasket, the motor shut off on the freeway at about 60 mph, spraying oil out of the driver side, are there any oil lines or anything of that nature running on the driver side? Could be a filter gasket failure but im not 100% sure. I just an idea of a few points to check out when I dive in tomorrow. There were a few quiet rattles/ticks that quickly stopped and started, I lost power and heard a quiet popping sound. There was some oil on the steering rack also. Any ideas

No, no external oil lines.
Yes could be the oil filter housing if it is on that side.

Check the dip stick, it may show over full if head gasket finally blew all the way over to an oil drain or oil passage.
Oil could have come out of dip stick tube, it is on the drivers side

Did the engine slow down and then stop or was it more sudden like spark was cut off?

If you do have coolant in the oil then most likely there was some bearing damage as the coolant was circulated to them with the oil.
Disconnect coil, for a no start, and see if starter motor can turn/crank the engine, if so damage may be minimal, if it won't crank then you have a spun bearing, so engine will need to come out.

It was a slow loss of power, I had to floor it to get back up to speed when traffic slowed then it eventually stopped running and I coasted to the shoulder. When I pulled the dipstick on the side of the road I saw what looked like yellow snot on the top and at the bottom looked like clean oil. I flushed the radiator a week before and it didnt look like it had oil in it.

Thanks for the quick reply

It turns over but wont start so it sounds like the lower end is ok, so maybe a new set of heads? I think it would do my truck some good anyway im over 200k miles now anyway, and all new gaskets?

Upon further inspection, theres oil and water in my intake and when I pulled the plugs water ran out of one cylinder, the next plug I pulled was covered in metal pieces. Time for a motor.

Can we go back to the part where "I was driving with what I thought was a blown headgasket"?

That's the point where I would have gotten it towed...
