Just got back from getting the carb. A Holley 1850-4 or in other words a 4160 600cfm. Looks to be a non adjustable foat and has vaccum secondaries, which Im fine with. Just needs cleaned up. I have to put the Ford throttle linkage ball thing back on it, have a few laying around but other then that, should work perfectly.

Are you going to rebuild the Carb, or run it the way it is till you get the swap all done?

It was already rebuilt so I will see how it runs as it is but will be ordering a rebuild kit just in case. I just need to blow out the barrels clean up the outside of it and whatnot.

I can pressure test it since I have the fuel pump but Ill wait till its on the engine.

For some reason photobucket is making my computer act up so I will do this with my phone so bear with me.

Prepping to get it off it's stand.

Off it's stand...

Pilot bearing, flywheel and clutch are on. Yes I did have to take it all off to get the dust shield on.

And now they are one unit.

And me making loud sounds and relizing how great this is going to be.

More to come soon.

Nice! Get some chassis saver on that transmission. It will look tons better.

Hopefully in two weeks I will be if everything goes right and have everything I need.

I have never worried about what the trans looks like, it can look ugly all day long.

As far as stuff goes, fluids (oil for engine and trans, radiator fluid) Oil lines, oil line fittings for the oil filter relocation bracket and for a pressure sensor out put, plug wires, plugs, belt, Pcv and a grommet for it, ball and socket exhaust flange for the passengerside header, lower rad hose (may just use a flex hose) spare welding wire.

Not as much done today due to yesterdays progress gave me some back problems.

I'm going to run my remote oil filter adaptor like this for now. Dint forget I will be running an oil cooler I have too.

This thing is going to take like 7 quarts of oil for the first fill up by the time everything is said and done.

Spark plug wires arrived in the mail. Paid $17.69 off ebay, not to bad I want to say plus fit right on the HEI cap. Also just went and got spark plugs and the belt too.

Now to go take the spark plugs out for the first time (ya alot going through my mind there) and put the new ones in and maybe the dizzy too.

Picked up a flex hose for the lower rad hose and a gasket for the carb.

Other then oil in the engine, I do have everything to make this engine run now :yahoo: but still waiting on the rest of the oil lines to show up for the remote mount for the oil filter.

I just need to get the fluids now along with taking a few things off the other engine such as the vacuum tree, acceraltor cable holder, PCV grommet and valve (it has a 5.8 liter PCV valve in it now due to awhile back it was having oil shoot out the dip stick) and get a an oil filter. Also need to take a cable nub for the linkage off of one of my spare carbs and slap it on my Holley carb.

I must have missed it, but what are you using for motor mounts? Just the fox body convertable ones?

Yup.

I said this on my facebook but not here but my swap could be delayed due to my step uncle is going to be having a hospice nurse by his side and doesn't have much time left, cancer is taking his life. But his brother, aka my step dad, and him have had one hell of a year doing everything they can together before it has got this far on him.
