You may not be able to swap gauge clusters. The harness is different in non-tach trucks vs tach trucks, non-tach is missing wires and the plug is different. It is possible to make it work but it is NOT simply plug and play, unfortunately.

my ignition switch done the same thing. I used some of our super duty sealant that we use at work to fix mine. As far as the tach, if i am not mistaken the wiring harness is actually a little different due to the tach. Could be wrong though. As far as the axle ratios and bigger tires my BII has the 3.45's 5sp. tranny and 235/75r15 tires. These tires actually measure out to be about 28in. tall. It is a little harder to pull off, read ride the clutch just a tad,but once going it does fine and gets about 20 mpg to boot

The wiring harness is different. The gauge cluster plug will not fit unless you modify it, and it is missing some wires if it didn't originally have a tach.

I was so pissed when I discovered that. Picked up two nice gauge clusters for free at my favorite junkyard only to discover that neither will work. :annoyed:

At least I don't really need a tach, It was just a nicety since I have the spare sitting there.

Finally got pictures up for the scrapper. I will be making a sale thread in parts if anyone's looking.

It's currently parked between the garage and the fence row, so I had some bad angles to work with.
