Hello I am trying to get a mechanical locker like an ox locker for the front differential in my 94 4.0 but am seeing that these come with replacement diff covers and my current diff cover is one of the I-beams what are my options I would like to keep the independent front suspension

If you're not making mistakes, you're not learning.
ARB or Eaton E-locker (I think Eaton still makes that one).

3.55+ carrier, c-clip style.

I don't think there are many options for these axles. I installed an e locker this summer in my D35. Fairly pricey but works well. You need the extra carrier bearings that they specify and you'll also need to do the spring c clip eliminator modification as you cannot install a c clip with this carrier.

The posi or trac lok or whatever fiat calls them from the jeep dana 35, (rear axle), will work in the front D35 out of an exploder.

Ox should work if you cut the front of the axle beam open so the shift fork can pass through, then machine the flange of the OX cover down about 1/8" or 3/16" to account for the thickness of the beam in between the diff and the cover... A lot of work IMO for nothing gained over an ARB (the cable shifting setup isn't more reliable from speaking to others who have had them).

ARB locker reliability is almost entirely dependent on the care that goes into the installation (nearly every problem I've seen has been due to twisted O-rings, over-torqued fittings, poorly-routed hoses, etc). Best to find someone with experience who's actually done numerous ARB installations.

I would prefer a cable because of the lack of compressor, hoses, and electronics I decided to put a lock right in and it has been working fantastically although it doesn't seem to unlock with 29" tires :)
